AFTER LIFE

Older people aren't usually portrayed in art and I had in mind this scene which can have different meanings. For me, the scene is showing a woman celebrating her first birthday after the loss of her husband, bringing her back memories of their happy life they had together. It can also talks about the fact that women tends to live longer than men.
I wanted to work with this duality on warmth and loneliness to get two illustrations in one with two different feelings.
